You should also be a quick and eager learner with a desire to constantly expand your sales and product knowledge. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills as well as the ability to easily establish rapport with both clients and their gatekeepers.
Specific qualifications for the role include:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Recent outside sales experience including establishing business relationships and overcoming gatekeepers’ objections
- Steady work history with longevity with previous employers
- Excellent customer service and follow-up skills
- Familiarity with social media
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Professional sales training (Dale Carnegie, etc.), a plus
